SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The RA is responsible for providing routine daily care assistance to residents of the Honeysuckle Studios in strict accordance with facility guidelines. The RA should also provide stability and maintain the framework established to provide residents with proper instruction, assistance and mentoring all while promoting dignity and fairness for all individuals residing in the Home.

The staff of Honeysuckle Studios are to have a godly character. They must recognize the sacredness of human life and have a God-given desire to protect that life by aiding women and their families affected by crisis pregnancies.

REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Acquired a high school diploma or GED

2. Possess a minimum of two (2) years of experience in social services or related field.

3. Be a committed Christian who demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

4. Have a working knowledge of providing residential care services.

5. Possess good written and verbal communication skills as well as experience with Microsoft.

6. Subscribe and support the agency’s Mission Statement, Organizational Values and Beliefs.

7. Be dependable and possess a positive attitude and teachable spirit.

8. Hold a valid driver’s license with an F endorsement.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. To fully know and understand, implement, and enforce the guidelines established with the Honeysuckle Studios Maternity Home Manual.

2. Answers phone and directs calls as needed.

3. Maintain confidentiality with all resident information in strict compliance with HIPAA law.

4. Have clear instructions regarding evening childcare routines and ensure they are executed.

5. Cleaning, disinfecting and organizing the maternity home ensuring an odor free facility.

6. Contact appropriate authorities in the case of an emergency as per policy/guidelines.

7. Assist with meal or snack preparation and serving arrangements based on care needs.

8. Supervise pre-approved visitation appointments according to policy.

9. To record daily occurrences of the House and with individual residents concerning activities, incidents, treatments, medication dispensing, shift logs, etc. at the close of each shift in a clear and detailed manner.

10. Oversee any volunteers working on your shift.

11. Provide constant supervision of residents and have full knowledge of their whereabouts.

12. Utilize good judgment and seek direction from House Manager or Executive Director as needed to resolve matters.

13. Assist with office or administrative staff to utilize spare time.

14. Display professionalism both in appearance and in attitude.

15. Deal effectively with staff, residents, families and internal and external representatives.

16. Continue to develop thorough knowledge of the facility operations.

17. Execute pre-service, post-service and annual training courses throughout employment.

Disclosure:

The position of RA requires a moderate amount of lifting and carrying of objects. Although the person in this position sits, stands, bends, lifts and moves intermittently throughout the shift, there may be extended periods your will spend on your feet. The RA may also be subject to an upset resident and/or family member(s) requiring a calm presence and ability to assess a situation and react according to protocol.
