Residential Counselor- Associate Professional

Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Residential Counselors to join our team as a 2nd Associate Level Professional shift staff 30 hours per week Monday, Wednesday, Friday and alternating weekends.

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing support and care to youth in a residential setting, ensuring their well-being and promoting independence. This position requires a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for residents through effective caregiving and direct support. Second shift hours are 3p-11p. Individuals with experience working with the IDD population are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Ensuring notes are in the documented daily.

Work collaboratively with the director and qualified professional.

Assist with scheduling resident appointment.

Data entry.

Communication with stakeholders.

Demonstrate written and verbal communication.

Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.

Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a positive living environment.

Implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident's needs and preferences.

Monitor and document residents' progress, behaviors, and any changes in their condition.

Facilitate group activities that promote social interaction and community engagement.

Ensure the safety and security of residents by adhering to established protocols and procedures.

Assist with mobility needs, including lifting or transferring residents when necessary.

Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate care and address any medical concerns.

Experience

• 1 year previous experience in mental health caregiving or direct support roles is preferred, particularly in settings such as personal care homes, group homes, or home community care.
• Familiarity with mental health care practices and the ability to assist with ADLs is highly desirable.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with residents from diverse backgrounds.
• A compassionate approach to caregiving that emphasizes respect for individual dignity and autonomy.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• A degree in any field is preferabl but not required
