Residential Custodian Grounds Person

ABOUT US:

Watergate at Landmark (WAL) is a Luxury high-rise condominium community in Alexandria’s West End. WAL is seeking a full-time, evening/weekend shift environmental grounds person to provide general custodial services of the property, maintaining it free from litter, leaves, trash, and snow. Must be available to work on holidays (rotating schedule among staff) and occasional overtime. NOTE: Work Schedule includes Saturday and Sunday, plus evenings during the weekdays. For the weekday the schedule is evening shift- 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm; Sat-Sun. 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. (six days/week) This position is a permanent full-time with benefits.

Selection Criteria

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

· Must be dependable

· Flexible to work in other areas of property housekeeping

· Be able to work evenings and weekends with occasional OT, and holidays

· Must have knowledge of proper use of commercial cleaning chemicals and use of equipment such as vacuums, mops, and blowers.

· This position is considered essential personnel in times of weather or other emergencies

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:

· High school graduate or equivalent preferred, may exchange for years of experience

· Must be able to lift up-to 75 lbs.

DUTIES: Includes but not limited to the following.

· Maintaining general grounds appearance, free from litter, leaves, and/or snow.

· Custodial duties in the common indoor area include mopping and sweeping floors, vacuuming the lobby, and sweeping the stairwells

· Cleaning common areas in buildings (sidewalks, grounds area, trash bins)

· Dusting common areas of the building lobbies and the community center

· Trash cleaning-empty waste containers and pull recycling from residential buildings

· Pulling trash containers from loading dock to trash compactor rooms. Familiar with compactor machines a plus.

· Other duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

A pre-employment background check and drug screening will be required prior to hire.

Work Schedule Saturday and Sunday 8 am to 4:30 pm, Weekdays 3-9 pm.
