Design Manager Job Overview
We are a boutique residential design-build firm specializing in thoughtful, well-crafted renovations and custom homes. Our work is grounded in strong design fundamentals, clear communication, and close collaboration with our clients. We’re seeking a Design Manager who values precision, design clarity, and the opportunity to be deeply involved in shaping meaningful residential spaces from concept through construction.
Design Manager Responsibilities
- Lead the development of comprehensive residential design concepts that reflect client preferences and project requirements.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs, negotiate design solutions, and present proposals confidently.
- Produce thoughtful renovation drawings, including existing and proposed floor plans and carefully dimensioned layouts suitable for construction
- Utilize software such as AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD, Rhino 3D, Grasshopper 3D, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite to produce detailed drawings and visualizations.
- Supervise Selection Coordinator to ensure accuracy in CAD drawings, renovation plans, interior layouts, and construction documents.
Design Manager Skills Qualifications
- Proven experience in residential design management or a similar role within the construction or interior design industry.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD, Rhino 3D (including Grasshopper), SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam, NavisWorks, and other drafting or visualization tools.
- Ability to produce clear, buildable floor plans and 3D models with strong design fundamentals related to flow, proportion, and functionality
- Solid understanding of project scheduling software and techniques for managing multiple concurrent projects.
- Knowledge of construction estimating processes, budgeting practices, contracts management, and construction management principles.
- Familiarity with renovation projects including interior design aspects from concept to execution.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in drafting, project management documentation, and contract review.
Pay: $60,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
