Job Summary

TDJREV is seeking a Residential Development Architect to lead and coordinate architectural design efforts for single-family and small-scale residential communities across the company’s development portfolio. This role bridges design, financial feasibility, and construction execution, ensuring that the residential product is architecturally strong, economically viable, and scalable.

The Residential Development Architect will work closely with Development, Finance, and Construction teams to move projects from concept through entitlement, permitting, and construction administration. The ideal candidate understands how to design a housing product that aligns with underwriting assumptions, cost targets, and long-term portfolio strategy.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead architectural design of single-family homes, cottages, townhomes, and build-to-rent product

· Translate development pro forma assumptions into efficient and market-responsive floor plans

· Develop schematic design, design development, and full construction document packages

· Sign and seal architectural drawings in accordance with Texas regulations

· Coordinate with civil, structural, MEP, landscape, and other consultants

· Support zoning, entitlement, and municipal approval processes

· Prepare and manage permit submissions and respond to jurisdictional comments

· Work closely with Construction leadership to ensure constructability and cost control

· Participate in value engineering efforts to maintain the target cost per square foot

· Develop repeatable residential product lines for multi-phase deployment

· Review shop drawings and respond to RFIs during construction

· Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, energy standards, and accessibility requirements

Required Qualifications

· Registered Architect in the State of Texas in good standing

· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture

· Minimum 7 years of experience in residential architecture

· Demonstrated experience producing permit-ready construction documents

· Strong knowledge of wood-frame and light-gauge steel residential construction

· Proficiency in Revit required; familiarity with AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite preferred

· Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary consultant teams

· Working knowledge of Texas building codes, zoning, and entitlement processes

· Strong space-planning and housing design capability

· Ability to balance aesthetics, efficiency, and financial constraints

· High attention to detail and documentation quality

· Strong verbal and written communication skills

· Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced development environment

· Strategic thinking with a practical execution mindset

· Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Compensation

· Salary Range: $110,000 to $140,000 annually, commensurate with experience

· Bonus: Eligible for performance-based bonus tied to project milestones and company performance

· Long-Term Incentives: Potential participation in project-level incentive structures, subject to executive approval
