Residential Electrician-Apprentice

Seeking 3-4 year electrical apprentices for our residential/single family department with experience in roughing and trimming single family homes!

Employment type: Full Time in the Colorado Springs area

Compensation will be based on experience. Paid weekly!

Responsibilities:

Assist by performing tasks under supervision of an electrician such as:

Small tools and equipment care

Material handling and organizing

Keep work area clean

Position Requirements:

• 18 years of age or older
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work
• Meet minimum Bureau of Apprenticeship Training requirements.

Working Conditions:

• Requires working in all environmental elements.
• Employee to have required personal tools with them at all times (waist tool belt as worn weighs approximately 30 lbs.)
• Be able to work from all types of ladders.
• Perform work at various heights, up to 90’ from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, cat walks or other safe work areas.
• Work in restricted areas (switchgear room, manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces, attics, etc.)
• Wear personal protective equipment in compliance with Company Safety Policy.
• Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers.
• Able to work 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, and overtime as required.

Skills:

• Be able to positively identify colors.
• Able to understand and follow directions.
• Must be able to read, write and speak the English language fluently.
• Read instructional manuals.
• Basic understanding of hand tools.
• Capable of digging trenches.
• Working miniature excavator

Physical Function:

• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach overhead.
• Lift 50 pounds unassisted.
• Constantly moving on your feet.
• Climb ladders (all types).
• Completing overhead work for full day assignments.
• Responsible for securing tools and materials from storage areas to complete their assigned tasks.
• Must be able to make transition from employee parking area or street into construction work areas and to gain access to all levels of the building, even if the only means of access is by OSHA approved site construction ladders or stairs still under construction but acceptable for use.
