Residential Electrician Mechanic

Prime Electrical Company, LLC is seeking a skilled Residential Electrician Mechanic to perform electrical installations in new residential construction homes and provide residential service and repair work. This position requires the ability to work independently, read plans, install electrical systems in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), troubleshoot electrical issues, and maintain a professional appearance and attitude when interacting with customers, builders, and other trades.

Essential Responsibilities

New Construction Residential Wiring

• Read and interpret electrical plans, specifications, and construction drawings.
• Install complete electrical systems in new residential homes.
• Perform rough-in wiring, including drilling, pulling wire, and securing electrical systems.
• Install electrical panels, service equipment, grounding systems, and meter bases.
• Install switches, receptacles, GFCI devices, AFCI devices, lighting fixtures, smoke detectors, and ceiling fans.
• Install specialty systems including generators, EV chargers, under-cabinet lighting, tape lighting, landscape lighting, and low-voltage wiring as required.
• Complete trim-out work according to company standards and customer selections.
• Ensure all installations meet NEC requirements and local code requirements.
• Coordinate work with builders, inspectors, and other trades to maintain project schedules.
• Maintain clean and organized job sites throughout all phases of construction.

Residential Service & Repair

• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues in occupied homes.
• Perform electrical repairs safely and efficiently.
• Replace and upgrade electrical devices, fixtures, panels, and service equipment.
• Install customer-requested additions such as receptacles, lighting, ceiling fans, EV chargers, and generators.
• Explain findings and recommendations professionally to customers when required.
• Complete service work while minimizing disruption to the homeowner.

General Field Responsibilities

• Operate company vehicles, tools, and equipment safely and responsibly.
• Complete required job notes, photos, and documentation within company software.
• Maintain accurate records of materials used and communicate material needs to management.
• Assist apprentices and helpers with training and task completion.
• Follow company safety policies and OSHA guidelines.
• Attend company meetings, training sessions, and safety meetings as required.
• Communicate effectively with field management regarding project progress, delays, and concerns.
• Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude while representing the company.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years residential electrical experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of residential electrical systems and National Electrical Code (NEC).
• Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints and plans.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems and identify code violations.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders, work in attics, crawl spaces, and outdoor conditions.
