RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTION POSITIONS
Siteworx Excavating LLC is a well-established, fast-paced, non-union company located in Centerville, MN that specializes in residential excavation, sewer and water installations, and demolitions.
We have a job opening in the construction industry for an experienced Residential Excavator and Bobcat Operator to work on a full-time basis.
Pay will be based on qualifications.
Excavator & Bobcat Operator - You will operate various equipment and machinery including mini excavators, skid loaders, Bobcats, Trackhoes, dozers, compactors, etc. You must be skilled at reading house plans and surveys, digging basements, backfills, final grades, sewer and water installations, main line taps, among other tasks. Septic installation experience a plus. *On the job training for sewer and water installations and main line taps is offered*
Required Abilities and Skills (Excavator):
- Previous experience as a residential excavator - ability to read surveys and plans to properly dig basements (staking, laser set up, etc.)
- Experience digging utilities (Sewer, Water and Storm Sewer)
- Digging around existing utilities without disruption of said utility
- Capable of digging with trench shoring boxes in all situations (inside box double and triple stacked, etc.)
- Have a current and clean Class A License to transport equipment
- Have a current health card
- Able to pass random drug tests
- Must be able to operate various equipment and machinery including mini excavators, skid loaders, Bobcats, Trackhoe, dozers etc.
- You will need to be skilled at reading house plans and surveys
- Able to set own elevations with laser
- Able to work independently and efficiently
Required Abilities and Skills (Bobcat Operator):
- Previous experience performing final grades for residential construction is a must
- Have a current and clean Class A license to transport equipment
- Have a current health card
- Able to pass random drug tests
- Ability to carry a grade according to survey
- Ability to finish grade within 1/2” of elevations set on survey
- Able to set own elevations with laser
- Able to work independently and efficiently
Requirements:
- Must have positive attitude with safety and production in mind to support the team
- Able to work long hours in all types of weather conditions (within reason)
- Ability to physically lift and move 50 lbs.
- Ability to show up on time ready to work (punctuality and dependability)
- Read, understand, and communicate English
- Perform basic mathematical calculations
- Use of problem-solving skills to find solutions, or to deal proactively with work-related challenges
- Understanding of tools and safe practices
- Should be able to work 10-14 hour shifts Monday-Friday starting at 7:00am. No weekend work required, but may be asked if needed
- Ability and willingness to perform labor work in order to keep job running smoothly, and to complete in a timely manner (team work)
Primary Responsibilities
- Operate excavators/misc. equipment for residential excavation/backfill/final grade; building underground utility installation
- Observe and understand colored flags and ground markings indicating the location of underground utilities and structures
- Keep a neat and level work area
- Plan work route to execute work in a safe, efficient, and productive manner
- Pay close attention to ground crew to avoid any and all injuries/incidents
- Load flatbed truck, dump truck, or pickup truck with excavated soils or building materials such as stone, sand, aggregate, pipe, asphalt, large hand tools etc.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning, complete a 360-degree walk around prior to starting equipment
- Inspect and maintain the equipment according to company policy
- Must safely operate equipment according to manufactures requirements and company policy
- Work closely with others in order to complete the tasks successfully, safely, and timely
- Follow directions from foremen and superintendents to meet expectations for each specific task
- Shall perform laborer responsibilities when needed and instructed by foreman/superintendent
- Clean work area, company vehicles, tools, and equipment daily
- Perform all work in a safe manner according to company policies
