Residential HVAC Field Operations Manager

Sun up to sign-off, you orchestrate a service operation that keeps customers cool in summer, warm in winter, and impressed year-round. You’ll guide a skilled team of residential HVAC technicians and dispatchers, balance the schedule, clear roadblocks, and turn data into decisions that lift both customer satisfaction and departmental profitability.

Day in the life

Morning begins with a quick huddle: you align techs and dispatch on the day’s priorities, safety reminders, and KPIs. As calls roll in, you refine routes and schedules to maximize efficiency. Midday, you’re coaching a technician through a tricky diagnostic, approving an estimate, and checking parts levels to ensure no job stalls. When a customer concern escalates, you step in—listening, resolving, and turning a tough moment into loyalty. You close the day reviewing performance dashboards, collaborating with sales and install teams on upcoming work, and documenting process tweaks that make tomorrow better than today.

What you will lead

  • Full oversight of daily operations for the residential HVAC service department
  • Hands-on supervision, coaching, and support for technicians and dispatch personnel
  • Optimization of scheduling and coordination of service calls for speed and satisfaction
  • Performance management: monitor productivity, quality, and follow-through
  • Enforcement of safety practices, company procedures, and local code compliance
  • Ownership of escalated customer issues and timely, professional resolutions
  • Review and approval of service estimates, invoices, and warranty documentation
  • Tracking and acting on KPIs including revenue, margins, and call completion rates
  • Inventory stewardship and oversight of parts ordering and availability
  • Recruitment, hiring, and training of new service team members
  • Cross-functional alignment with sales and installation to ensure seamless delivery
  • Continuous improvement initiatives to drive efficiency and profitability

What you bring

  • 5+ years of residential HVAC experience focused on service and troubleshooting
  • Strong, practical experience with Service Titan (ServiceTitan) software
  • 2+ years of supervisory or management experience preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, diagnostics, and repair practices
  • EPA Certification required; NATE certification is a plus
  • Proven ability to lead teams, mentor talent, and hold standards
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-first mindset
  • Exceptional organization and problem-solving capabilities
  • Proficiency with service management platforms and dispatching tools
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
