Residential Interior Designer

The Opportunity

Intown Renovations Group is looking for a talented residential designer to join our team and take ownership of the design process for kitchen, bathroom, addition, and whole-home renovation projects across intown Atlanta.

You'll work directly with homeowners from the earliest conversations through completed design—listening to how they live, understanding what their home needs, and translating that into thoughtful plans that guide the entire project. This is a hands-on design role with real client relationships, not a back-office drafting position. You'll be in homes, at the table with clients, and deeply involved in shaping every project we take on.

We've been renovating homes inside the perimeter for over 20 years, with more than 1,000 completed projects. As we continue to grow, this role will have meaningful influence over how we approach design and how we serve our clients.

What You'll Do

Design & Documentation

  • Conduct on-site measurements and produce as-built floor plans and documentation
  • Develop schematic designs, proposed floor plans, and space plans that balance livability, light, and long-term value
  • Create elevations, cabinetry layouts, and 3D renderings as projects require
  • Read, interpret, and build from existing architectural drawings when clients bring their own plans
  • Prepare clear, polished design presentations and scopes of work for client review
  • Support development of accurate client proposals and project estimates, with careful attention to numbers, scope, and financial detail

Client Collaboration

  • Lead design consultations with homeowners to understand goals, priorities, and budget
  • Guide clients through design options and key decisions with confidence and clarity
  • Present design solutions and project proposals that help clients move forward with confidence
  • Maintain strong communication with clients throughout the design process
  • Collaborate with project managers and our construction team to ensure designs translate smoothly into production

Who You Are

  • A designer at heart—you think in floor plans, sight lines, and spatial flow
  • Experienced in residential design, renovation, or residential architecture
  • Skilled in CAD software, preferably Chief Architect (or ready to transition into it)
  • Comfortable reading and discussing architectural and construction drawings, whether you created them or not
  • Meticulous with dimensions, specifications, proposals, and project financials—you don't let details slip through
  • A strong communicator who can make complex design decisions feel simple for homeowners
  • Genuine, warm, and at ease with clients—the kind of person who makes a stressful process feel manageable
  • Someone who takes full ownership of their work—your deliverables are complete, accurate, and on time without someone checking behind you

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in residential design, interior design, architecture, or a closely related field
  • Bachelor's degree in interior design, architecture, or a related discipline
  • Proficiency in Chief Architect or similar residential CAD software
  • Portfolio of residential work demonstrating space planning, renovation design, and attention to detail
  • Residential design certification (NCIDQ, NKBA, or equivalent) is a plus
  • Familiarity with construction documents, estimating, or construction management platforms is a plus

Compensation & Benefits

Total compensation ranges from $75,000 to $120,000 annually, consisting of a base salary plus performance-based bonus. Compensation is commensurate with experience.

  • Paid holidays and annual PTO
  • Company-paid short-term disability, long-term disability, and life insurance
  • Company-paid health reimbursement arrangement (QSEHRA)
