Job Summary
The Residential Interior Designer is responsible to coordinate the project selections, they will work closely with salespeople, designers, estimators, and the clients themselves. The Residential Interior Designer is responsible for driving the design selection process to completion so the project can be passed on to the production team.
Responsibilities
- Support the Design Directors in the selection process, by making detailed choices related to, style, finish and color for all selections
- Set setting selection appointments, priorities, and due dates.
- Input and review all selections in the system and confirm the accuracy of selections after clients’ visits to suppliers and trade partners.
- Communicate with vendors to receive quotes/layouts/specs/drawings
- Serve as the liaison between designer/vendors until the client is satisfied with the selections and prices; must also resolve incorrect selection quotes, photos, or details.
- Explain to vendors the project scope, client style, statement of allowance, and other details to help finalize client selections.
- Obtain any construction-related cost variances from the estimator and incorporate those into a client’s allowance and/or change order.
- Create a Selections Summary Sheet with detailed information for final selections and post it in Asana with cabinetry layouts, plumbing fixtures specs, appliances, flooring, and firebox specs for all vendors to see.
- Additional responsibilities as required.
- Should have experience collaborating with showrooms, trade vendors, and makers, along with confidence in sourcing, specification, procurement, and installation of coordination in both remodeling and furnishing interiors.
- Selections may include plumbing, lighting, tile, cabinetry, textiles, furnishings, decorative elements, and other curated interior finishes that thoughtfully bring each space to life.
- A strong eye for scale, texture, color, and composition is essential, along with the ability to create cohesive spaces that feel both elevated and livable.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in interior design or related field
- At least 2 years of experience in interior design or related field
- Residential remodeling experience preferred
- At least 2 years of Chief Architect software experience
- Working knowledge of interior design standards, styles, and trends
- Proven ability to develop and present design concepts
- Strong technical and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Displays a high level of professionalism, honesty, and integrity.
- Excellent attention to detail
