Position Summary
The Residential Monitor Manager is responsible for the direct supervision, leadership, scheduling, training, and performance management of all Behavioral Monitors and Residential Monitors assigned to IIMPACT, NFP's residential programs, including Group Homes, Transitional Living Programs (TLP), and other residential settings.
The Residential Monitor Manager ensures the safety, security, supervision, and behavioral stabilization of youth in care by overseeing staff responsible for monitoring youth behavior, implementing safety plans, documenting incidents, and maintaining a structured therapeutic environment. This position serves as the primary liaison between Residential Monitors, Youth in Care Workers, Case Managers, Clinicians, and Program Leadership.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, crisis intervention experience, and a trauma-informed approach to working with youth who have complex behavioral, emotional, and mental health needs.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesStaff Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise, support, and evaluate Residential Monitors and Behavioral Monitors.
- Conduct regular staff meetings, coaching sessions, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure staff maintain professionalism, appropriate boundaries, and adherence to agency policies.
- Assist with interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and termination recommendations.
- Develop staff schedules and ensure adequate staffing coverage for all shifts.
- Manage call-offs, emergency staffing needs, and shift coverage.
- Ensure monitors are properly trained and maintain required certifications.
Behavioral Monitoring Oversight
- Oversee implementation of individualized behavioral support plans.
- Ensure staff effectively monitor youth behaviors and document concerns.
- Review behavioral logs and reports daily.
- Identify behavioral trends and communicate concerns to clinical and case management teams.
- Ensure staff utilize trauma-informed and strength-based interventions.
- Monitor youth compliance with house rules, expectations, and safety protocols.
Crisis Intervention & Safety Management
- Respond to behavioral crises, emergencies, and critical incidents.
- Provide leadership during crisis situations and ensure appropriate interventions are implemented.
- Ensure all incidents are properly documented and reported.
- Review incident reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate follow-up actions with therapists, case managers, and program leadership.
- Ensure compliance with agency crisis response protocols.
Residential Operations
- Conduct routine inspections of residential areas to ensure safety and cleanliness.
- Ensure staff maintain a structured and therapeutic living environment.
- Monitor implementation of daily schedules, routines, and programming.
- Assist with transportation coordination and community activities when needed.
- Ensure all safety equipment, medication logs, and emergency procedures are maintained properly.
Documentation & Compliance
- Review daily logs, behavioral reports, shift reports, and incident documentation.
- Ensure documentation is completed accurately and submitted on time.
- Maintain compliance with:

- Accreditation requirements
- Participate in internal audits and quality assurance reviews.
- Assist with corrective action plans and compliance monitoring.
Youth Support & Engagement
- Promote positive youth development and relationship-building.
- Serve as a role model and mentor to youth.
- Encourage youth participation in educational, vocational, recreational, and therapeutic activities.
- Assist youth with conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
- Support youth in achieving treatment plan goals and independent living objectives.
Training & Professional Development
- Coordinate and facilitate ongoing staff training.
- Ensure monitors receive training in:
- Trauma-Informed Care
- Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI)
- Mandated Reporting
- Behavioral Management
- De-escalation Techniques
- Cultural Competency
- Youth Development
- Track training compliance and certification renewals.
QualificationsRequired
- Associate's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Human Services, Education, or related field; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience working with at-risk youth, child welfare, residential treatment, juvenile justice, or behavioral health programs.
- Minimum one (1) year of supervisory experience.
- Experience managing staff in a residential or group home setting.
- Knowledge of adolescent development and behavioral intervention strategies.
- Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record.
Preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Criminal Justice, or related field.
- Experience working with DCFS youth and residential licensing requirements.
- CPI Certification.
- CPR and First Aid Certification.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles.
- Experience with youth exhibiting behavioral, emotional, and mental health challenges.

Work Environment
- Residential Group Home and Transitional Living Program settings.
- Requires evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday availability as needed.
- Must be available for on-call crisis response.
- Frequent interaction with youth exhibiting behavioral, emotional, and mental health challenges.
- May require physical intervention consistent with agency-approved crisis management protocols.

Pay: $49,795.62 - $59,968.92 per year
