Residential Solar, Battery & Generator Service Helper

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Residential Solar and Battery Service Helper to assist technicians in performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on residential solar PV systems and battery backup systems. This position supports field operations by ensuring job sites are safe, organized, and efficient, while gaining hands-on experience in renewable energy systems.

Key Responsibilities

Assist lead technicians with service, maintenance, and troubleshooting of solar PV systems, inverters, battery storage units, and stand-by generators.

Help with loading, unloading, and staging materials, tools, and equipment at job sites.

Safely handle and transport tools, ladders, conduit, wiring, and solar/battery components.

Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas.

Perform basic electrical tasks under supervision, such as conduit runs, wire pulling, and equipment mounting.

Support technicians with equipment testing, system inspections, and component replacement.

Document site conditions and assist with taking system photos for service reports.

Follow all safety protocols, including ladder use, PPE, and task specific hazard mitigation.

Communicate effectively with team members and customers while maintaining a professional attitude.

Learn and apply knowledge of solar and battery system components, wiring methods, and troubleshooting techniques.

Ability to travel and work overtime as needed.

Required Qualifications & Skills

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Basic understanding of hand tools, power tools, and electrical safety.

Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Willingness to learn and follow directions.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Previous experience in solar installation, electrical work, or construction.

Must be able to lift 50+ lbs., climb ladders, and work on roofs.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
