Residential Trash Driver

Grace Hauling has been in business for 26 years and growing at a rapid pace. We pride ourselves on great customer service and a friendly work environment. We are looking to hire a full-time residential driver for manual/automated refuse collection.

Essential duties and responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.

• Perform pre and post trip inspections per company policy.
• Immediately report hazards to route supervisor or dispatch.
• Safely drive and maintain waste collection vehicle per company policy.
• Serve multiple customers daily in a courteous manor.
• Lift and carry heavy waste receptacles and items and place into the collection vehicle multiple times a day.
• Communicate courteously with office staff, fellow drivers, and mechanics.
• Follow a route loaded on a tablet.
• Completely dumps all containers and leaves the customer's location clean and free of debris.
• Positions and returns containers on the customer's property in a manner that ensures lids are properly replaced, containers do not block driveway entrances or traffic.
• Notify route supervisor of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
• Ability to adhere to Company policies and rules, promotes the Company’s safety standards; does not take inappropriate risks.

Qualifications

• Drive refuse vehicle in many different situations safely per company policy. (backing, turning, between obstacles)
• Willing to learn how to drive refuse vehicles from the right side.
• At least a class B CDL with air brake endorsement and be at least 18 years of age.
• Successfully complete pre-employment DOT drug screen, physical, and background check which will include previous employment check, and motor vehicle record review.
• Good follow through ability, adheres to work schedule, follows through when challenges arise throughout the day.

Typical physical demands

• Lift and move up to 75lbs from ground to waist height several times throughout the day.
• Able to enter and exit vehicle using 3 points of contact multiple times a day.
• Work in all weather conditions safely. (rain, snow, heat)
• Being on your feet for multiple hours a day.
• Walking, bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, climbing are motions required throughout the day.

Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
