Certifications / Knowledge
- Knowledge of basic electrical power and the principles of physics, automotive mechanics and pneudraulics as applied to artillery loading, release, fusing, arming and aircraft non-turreted gun systems; use of precision measuring tools and inspection equipment; use and analysis of blueprints, schematics and electrical wiring layouts; and maintenance monitoring and safety procedures.
- Must have a minimum of 85% in English (read, write, understand, grammar).
Abilities & Experience
- Must have not less than 10 years of experience in the COUGAR role.
- Must have practical experience within the past 3 years.
- Establishes maintenance requirements such as parts, clearances, resistances, and rust damage.
- Analysis of electrical wiring diagrams, plans and technical publications is obligatory.
- Determines repair procedures required to address defective devices.
- Must have experience with Avionics programs in military or commercial settings with certificates.
Responsibilities
- Recommends on technical problems of repairing and maintaining helicopters.
- Advises on technical issues related to munitions loading, launch, release and suspension systems maintenance tasks.
- Establishes repair procedures required to address faulty equipment.
- Diagnoses persisting malfunctions and recommends corrective action by initiation or MDR.
- Inspects and examines repair of munitions and non-turret placed weapon systems as well as related artillery handling, packing and examination equipment.
- Inspects helicopter to identify functional status.
- Translates examination findings and establishes competence of rehabilitative activities.
- Inspects finished or in-development work to ensure conformity with local policies and technical magazines.
- Reviews performance of designated workers.
- Conducts and manages on-the-job training programs.
- Trains personnel on using maintenance handbooks and RSAF handbooks.
- Trains RSAF personnel on all phases of training.
