Resource Center Manager- North

Foster Village Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides holistic wraparound support to children and caregivers affected by the child welfare system. We equip families with basic necessities, connect them with ongoing therapeutic support, and advocate for community awareness to bridge the gaps in child welfare.

Our close-knit team is made up of Child Development and Social Work professionals, former/current foster parents who are trained in trauma-informed care, and passionate child welfare advocates. We have two multi-use resource centers, one in Dripping Springs and one in North Austin. And we have affiliate locations throughout the U.S. We strive to be an inviting and safe space for everyone.

Job Description

The Resource Center Manager serves as the welcoming and steady presence at our North Austin Resource Center. This role is ideal for someone who is deeply relational, highly organized, and dependable — a leader who finds joy in creating order behind the scenes while cultivating meaningful connection in front of it.

The Resource Center Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the North Resource Center, ensuring the space runs smoothly, remains well-stocked, and consistently reflects the dignity and care central to Foster Village’s mission. This individual plays a key role in maintaining a welcoming space for vulnerable children and families, leading volunteers, stewarding community partnerships, and maintaining a clean, safe, and inviting facility.

What You’ll Do

We are seeking a warm and friendly, highly organized, responsive, and proactive individual to join our fast-paced nonprofit organization as a Resource Center Coordinator. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual who is passionate about making a positive impact on society through nonprofit work, specifically in child welfare.

Hours:

This role is currently a full-time position with main working hours Tuesday-Saturday between 9am-3pm. In-office hours are at our North Austin resource center (10545 Dessau Rd. Austin), with some out of office hours.

Responsibilities:

Lead the North Resource Center

  • Be present on site to serve as the main point of contact.
  • Work with our Programs team to meet urgent needs of children entering foster care through resources provided at our resource center.
  • Oversee the inventory management process, which includes tracking stock levels, replenishing stock levels, and ensuring accurate records.
  • Manage the physical transfer of inventory by regularly moving stock from shipping containers to the resource center, which requires the ability to routinely lift bins and boxes weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • Partner with South Resource Center lead to align efforts, coordinate resource allocation, and share information to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Partner with the Volunteer Coordinator to support volunteer recruitment, training, and scheduling efforts to ensure adequate staffing levels for various tasks or projects.
  • Manage all aspects of the facilities to keep them clean, welcoming, and running smoothly for operations and programs.
  • Lead the seamless execution of all onsite gatherings by managing day-of logistics, coordinating facility set-up, directing childcare leads and volunteers, overseeing family check-in, and serving as the primary point of contact for the event.
  • Provide feedback to the development team on volunteers who demonstrate potential for greater investment, and communicate diverse giving opportunities to these individuals.
  • Facilitate supervised visits between children and their families under the supervision of Child Protective Services (CPS).

Coordinate, Train, and Lead Individual and Group Volunteers at the Resource Center

  • Ensure that volunteers understand the organization's mission, goals, and how their efforts contribute to achieving them.
  • Match volunteers with roles that align with their skills, interests, and availability.
  • Provide opportunities for volunteers to contribute in meaningful ways that leverage their strengths and passions, including onsite and offsite projects and donation drives.
  • Provide flexible scheduling options to accommodate their availability.
  • Regularly evaluate and refine the volunteer program with our Volunteer Coordinator.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to enhance the volunteer experience, streamline processes, and address any barriers to engagement.
  • Provide regular updates on projects, events, and achievements to keep volunteers informed and engaged.

Network

  • Identify and engage with potential partner organizations, including nonprofits, community groups, government agencies, and corporate partners.
  • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with existing partners, ensuring ongoing collaboration and support for shared initiatives.
  • Coordinate networking events and meetings to facilitate information exchange, collaboration, and partnership opportunities.

Assist with Operational Administrative Tasks

  • Enter in-kind donation data.
  • Support events and projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, education, family studies, management, or related fields (or equivalent experience).
  • Deep commitment to the mission and values of Foster Village.
  • Exceptional multitasking abilities with the capacity to manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to respond promptly and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to engage and motivate volunteers effectively.
  • Lived experience in the field of foster care (personally or professionally) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite and other relevant digital system administration. Frequently used software include: Asana, Bloomerang , HubDoc, Excel, Canva, and Planning Center.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.

Compensation & Benefits

This is a full-time position with an annual salary range of $50,000-$55,000, commensurate with experience and skills. In addition, eligible for the following benefits:

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
