Job Summary:
Practices autonomously and in accordance with professional respiratory care standards and the policies and procedures of Anderson Hospital. Holds primary responsibility for development, coordination and implementation of the AHA and AAP courses, including BLS, ACLS, NRP and PALS classes that are provided through the OB and Education Departments. Responsible for the provision and facilitation of the orientation of new employees and continuing education of hospital staff. Assists the department manager in promoting and facilitating the Respiratory Therapy Student Assistance and Employee to Respiratory Therapist programs along with providing input for the recruitment and retention of respiratory therapists. Assists with the coordination and implementation of staff education, including annual continuing education requirements, HealthStream courses, Skills Day, and other educational activities. Assists with student clinical rotations and community education programs as directed.
Job Responsibilities:
Education Requirements and Other Requirements:
Education Level: Graduate of an accredited respiratory care program. RRT required.
Certification/Licensure: Current licensure with the State of Illinois. BLS certification within 30 days of hire. NRP certification within 90 days of hire. Certification in ACLS, PALS preferred.
Experience Requirements: Minimum of five (5) years of clinical respiratory care experience required. Critical Care Experience required. Proficient in computer skills.
