Are you passionate about helping patients breathe easier and improving respiratory health outcomes? Northwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center (NWMRMC) is seeking a skilled and compassionate Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team.


The Respiratory Therapist provides respiratory care services to patients across a variety of clinical settings, including emergency care, critical care, and general inpatient units. This role is responsible for assessing patient respiratory conditions, administering therapeutic treatments, and collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to support optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Assess, treat, and monitor patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary disorders

  • Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and other respiratory medications

  • Perform and monitor mechanical ventilation and ventilator management

  • Conduct diagnostic procedures including arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling and pulmonary function testing

  • Assist with airway management and emergency respiratory interventions

  • Participate in code blue and emergency response situations

  • Monitor patient response to respiratory treatments and adjust care as directed by physicians

  • Educate patients and families on respiratory treatments and disease management

  • Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record

  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention and patient safety protocols

  • Maintain respiratory therapy equipment and ensure proper operation

  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support patient care

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to respiratory care

  • Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications


Education: Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program

Licensure/Certifications:

  • RRT or CRT certification by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
  • Current Mississippi State Respiratory Care License
  • BLS certification required
  • ACLS and PALS certification required within one year of hire

Experience: Three (3) or more years of prior cardiopulmonary care experience preferred.
