Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ respiratory status through vital signs, oxygen levels, and physical examination findings.
• Administer respiratory therapy treatments, including oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and airway clearance techniques.
• Manage and monitor ventilator support ensuring optimal ventilation parameters.
• Perform airway management procedures such as suctioning to maintain airway patency.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients with pulmonary conditions.
• Conduct patient education on respiratory health, medication administration, and breathing exercises.
• Document all assessments, treatments, and interventions accurately within electronic medical records while adhering to hospital protocols and medical terminology standards.

Skills

• Skilled in airway management techniques and basic life support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to perform thorough patient assessments including vital signs monitoring and medical history review.
• Familiarity with medication administration related to respiratory therapy and acute care procedures.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
