Duties

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments including vital signs, oxygen saturation levels, and respiratory status evaluations.
• Administer respiratory therapy treatments such as nebulizers, oxygen therapy, and aerosol medications in accordance with physician orders.
• Manage ventilators and other advanced respiratory equipment for patients in emergency settings.
• Assist with airway management procedures including intubation, extubation, and suctioning to ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Monitor patient responses to therapies, adjusting treatment plans based on physiology knowledge and clinical observations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in acute care environments like emergency room, nursing home, swing bed, and outpatient clinic to provide critical support.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities, medication administration, and vital signs in compliance with hospital protocols.

Experience

• Proven hospital experience with a focus on critical care, emergency medicine, or pulmonology.
• Hands-on experience with ventilator management and airway management techniques.
• Familiarity with inpatient and outpatient settings including clinics specializing in geriatrics or pediatrics.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and respiratory therapy procedures.
• Efficiently and safely performed ABG draws
• Prior experience working in high-acuity environments such as ICU or trauma centers is highly desirable.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications such as Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) are preferred.
