Respiratory Therapist

Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Respiratory Therapist, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional respiratory care to patients across diverse clinical settings. Your expertise will support patients with breathing disorders, ensuring optimal oxygenation and ventilation. You will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care in inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and critical care settings.

Duties

  • Assess patients’ respiratory status through detailed evaluation of vital signs, lung sounds, and oxygen saturation levels
  • Administer respiratory treatments such as nebulizers, oxygen therapy, and aerosol medications with precision and care
  • Manage ventilator equipment for patients requiring mechanical ventilation, ensuring proper setup, monitoring, and troubleshooting
  • Perform airway management procedures including intubation assistance and suctioning to maintain airway patency
  • Conduct patient assessments to determine appropriate respiratory interventions based on physiology knowledge and medical terminology
  • Monitor and document vital signs, blood gas results, and other clinical data accurately in patient records
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in critical care units such as ICU, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), and Level I/II trauma centers to develop individualized treatment plans
  • Support emergency medicine teams by providing immediate respiratory support during acute events or trauma situations
  • Educate patients and family members on respiratory therapies, medication administration, and post-discharge care strategies
  • Maintain compliance with hospital protocols and safety standards related to respiratory therapy practices

Experience

  • Proven experience working in hospital medicine environments with a focus on critical care or emergency medicine
  • Demonstrated proficiency in ventilator management, airway management techniques, and acute care procedures
  • Prior experience in PICU or pediatric respiratory therapy is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with Level I trauma centers or Level II trauma center protocols enhances your candidacy
  • Strong background in pulmonology, physiology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology is essential
  • Experience working in outpatient clinics or geriatrics settings adds valuable versatility to your skill set
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) are preferred
  • Ability to assess patient condition rapidly and adapt interventions accordingly within inpatient or outpatient environments
