Respiratory Therapist - Pediatrics

FT, 3x12 Hour Shifts, 7a-7p

Every other weekend and holiday requirements

Respiratory Therapist will possess strong clinical and critical thinking skills, a superior work ethic, and the ability to communicate well with all members of the multidisciplinary team from MDs, Licensed Nurses, Respiratory Therapists, Certified Nursing Assistants, etc.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Respiratory Therapist will report directly to the Respiratory Clinical Manager.
• In coordination with the healthcare team, assesses, plans, directs, evaluates, and modifies each patient's care plan to meet with his/her physical, psychosocial, and cultural needs.
• Completes Treatment needs for all assigned patients such as;

o Medication administration

o Chest Physiotherapy

o Tracheostomy Care

o Ventilator management and weaning

o BIPAP management and weaning

o Bedside pulmonary function evaluation

o In-exsufflation, acapella, peak flows, and incentive spirometry.

o Artificial airway management and weaning

o Uses skilled interventions to provide symptom management and relief.

o Identifies patient problems and needs through continuously collecting data and observing patients.

o Transport assistance

o New patient evaluations

o Emergency response

o Family/patient education

o Staff education

o Assist in discharge process

o Documentation on eMAR, respiratory flow sheets

o Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Maintain a valid License as a Respiratory Therapist in the state in which you are assigned.
• Must have an updated BLS CPR certification.
• PALS certification within 3 months of hire.
• Maintain active credentials with the NBRC.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $47.25 - $50.40 per hour

Expected hours: 36 per week
