What You’ll Do
As a Respiratory Therapist at WakeMed, you’ll provide airway management services for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients. Responsibilities include:

Administering respiratory care procedures under physician orders

Managing oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, intubations/extubations
-
Performing arterial punctures, analysis, phlebotomy
-
Operating mechanical ventilation for all age groups

Collaborating with physicians and healthcare teams to evaluate treatment effectiveness
Licensure & Certification
-
NC Respiratory Care Practitioner – Required
-
Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) – Within 6 months of program completion
-
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Within 12 months of program completion
-
BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP – Required based on patient population
Education
-
Associate’s degree in respiratory therapy – Required
