Respiratory Therapist, Part Time

Connected Living, a licensed CLHF specializing in ventilator-dependent residents, is hiring a skilled and compassionate Respiratory Therapist. This role is ideal for someone who values quality care, clinical autonomy, and a stable, supportive environment.

> Position Overview

The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for restoring and maintaining pulmonary function for long-term residents by planning, delivering, and documenting medically prescribed respiratory therapies. You will work closely with physicians, nursing, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective, resident-centered care.

> Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct resident assessments, interpret diagnostic tests, and develop individualized respiratory treatment plans
  • Manage and operate respiratory equipment including ventilators, oxygen delivery systems, aerosol generators, and environmental control systems
  • Administer treatments such as inhalation therapy, bronchopulmonary drainage, and guided breathing exercises
  • Monitor physiological responses including vital signs, ABGs, blood chemistry, and overall progress
  • Document all therapies and resident responses clearly and accurately in medical records
  • Participate in interdisciplinary care conferences and discharge planning
  • Direct and support respiratory care tasks assigned to aides, technicians, or assistants
  • Ensure compliance with infection control, safety standards, and state/federal regulatory requirements
  • Maintain resident confidentiality and uphold all HIPAA regulations

> Required Qualifications

  • Tracheostomy Change Certification (REQUIRED)
  • Active California Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license
  • Experience with ventilator-dependent patients strongly preferred
  • Strong clinical decision-making and assessment skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Excellent communication, professionalism, and reliability
