Respiratory Therapist – Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine

About Us

New York Comprehensive Medical Care is seeking a motivated, compassionate, and experienced Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT) to join our growing outpatient Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine practice in Smithtown. This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with a Pulmonary physician in a dynamic clinical environment focused on delivering high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

Perform and assist with Pulmonary Function Testing (PFTs), Spirometry, Six-Minute Walk Testing, Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing (CPET) – training available if needed, Fractional Exhaled Nitric Oxide (FeNO) testing, and Pulse oximetry and oxygen evaluations.

Educate patients on COPD, asthma, and other pulmonary conditions; inhaler techniques; oxygen therapy; and CPAP/BiPAP therapy.

Coordinate care with physicians, sleep labs, DME vendors, and home oxygen providers.

Assist with prior authorizations and clinical documentation.

Support patient flow and clinical operations.

Qualifications

Current New York State Respiratory Therapist License (required)

RRT preferred; CRT considered with strong experience

Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience preferred

Outpatient pulmonary and sleep medicine experience highly desirable

Strong communication and patient education skills

EMR experience preferred
