Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children? At WakeMed, we’re looking for a dedicated Pediatric Respiratory Therapist to join our team and deliver high-quality, compassionate care to our youngest patients.
What You’ll Do:
As a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist, you’ll evaluate, treat, and manage patients of all ages—primarily infants, children, and adolescents—with respiratory illnesses and cardiopulmonary disorders across a variety of clinical settings. You’ll:

Perform therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory care under physician orders in both acute and critical care environments.

Conduct patient assessments, monitor treatment efficacy, and contribute to care planning and education.

Respond to emergency situations, assist with airway management, and ensure appropriate ventilator and oxygen therapy support.

Document care accurately, completely, and legally in the electronic medical record.

Maintain equipment readiness and support safe, efficient delivery of respiratory services.

Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other disciplines to provide individualized, family-centered care.

Licensure:
Registered Respiratory Therapist Required - And NC Respiratory Care Practitioner Required AND
(Adult Care) Basic Life Support (BLS) & Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) AND
(Neonatal/Pediatric Care) BLS, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
Education: Associate's Degree Respiratory Therapy Required Experience: No Experience Required
