(Telehealth Pulmonary Rehabilitation)

Position Summary

The Respiratory Therapist (RRT) at Breathe Better Rehab delivers live, interactive pulmonary rehabilitation services via telehealth, helping patients improve lung function, endurance, and quality of life from the comfort of their home. This role blends clinical expertise, coaching, and technology to guide patients through structured rehabilitation programs.

You will work closely with physicians, patient care coordinators, and the clinical team to deliver high-quality, outcomes-driven respiratory care.

Pulmonary rehabilitation in this model is a clinically proven approach to reducing symptoms, improving function, and supporting recovery for chronic lung conditions .

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care & Program Delivery

• Lead 45-minute live telehealth pulmonary rehab sessions for patients with chronic respiratory conditions (COPD, ILD, pulmonary fibrosis, post-COVID, etc.)
• Guide patients through:
  • Cardiopulmonary and cardiovascular exercises
  • Strength and conditioning programs
  • Breathing techniques (diaphragmatic, pursed-lip)
  • Functional training to improve daily activity tolerance
• Monitor patient response, vitals, symptoms, and exercise tolerance in real time
• Modify treatment plans based on clinical presentation and progress

Patient Education & Coaching

• Educate patients on disease management, breathing strategies, and lifestyle modifications
• Provide motivation, accountability, and coaching to improve adherence and outcomes
• Help patients build confidence in managing their respiratory condition independently

Care Coordination

• Collaborate with referring providers (physicians, NPs, PAs) on patient progress
• Contribute to 30-day progress reports and discharge summaries
• Communicate any changes in patient condition or safety concerns

Telehealth Delivery & Technology

• Deliver care through a secure, interactive telehealth platform
• Ensure patients can successfully connect and engage in sessions
• Work alongside patient care coordinators to optimize session flow and patient experience

Qualifications

• Licensed Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT) in applicable state(s)
• Experience in pulmonary rehabilitation, cardiopulmonary care, or outpatient respiratory care preferred
• Strong understanding of chronic lung diseases (COPD, ILD, pulmonary fibrosis, post-COVID, etc.)
• Comfort with telehealth technology and remote patient engagement
• Excellent communication and patient coaching skills
• Must have a dedicated home work space

Salary range 70-85000 depending on experience
