Accountant – Job Description
Position Title: Accountant
Department: Finance
Reports To: Finance Manager / General Manager
Job Summary
The Accountant is responsible for managing financial records, ensuring accuracy in accounting processes, compliance with regulations, and supporting business decisions through financial reporting and analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and ledgers
- Process accounts payable and receivable
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow
- Ensure compliance with VAT, tax laws, and statutory regulations
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
- Monitor expenses and control costs
- Support internal and external audits
- Maintain fixed assets records and depreciation schedules
- Provide financial reports to management as required
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Professional certification (ACCA, CPA, CMA) is an advantage
- Proven experience as an Accountant
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and work independently
Experience
- 2–5 years of accounting experience (industry or hospitality experience is a plus)
