Restaurant Bar Manager

Job Summary

The Sports Bar Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a high-energy sports bar, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, efficient staff performance, and strong financial results. This role combines hospitality leadership with a passion for sports, food, drinks, and customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Guest Experience

  • Manage day-to-day bar and floor operations during shifts
  • Ensure a welcoming, fun, and safe environment for all guests
  • Monitor service quality, cleanliness, and atmosphere during all hours
  • Resolve guest concerns quickly and professionally

Staff Management

  • Hire, train, schedule, and supervise bartenders, servers, hosts, and support staff
  • Lead by example to promote teamwork, accountability, and high morale
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and feedback
  • Enforce company policies and local labor regulations

Financial & Inventory Management

  • Control costs related to labor, food, and beverage
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships
  • Track sales, cash handling, and daily/weekly reports
  • Assist in setting and achieving revenue and profit goals

Food, Beverage & Compliance

  • Ensure consistency in food and drink quality and presentation
  • Maintain compliance with health, safety, and alcohol service laws
  • Monitor responsible alcohol service and intervene when necessary

Marketing & Events

  • Coordinate promotions, game-day specials, and special events
  • Create an energetic game-day atmosphere aligned with major sporting events
  • Support social media and local marketing initiatives

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of restaurant or bar management experience (sports bar preferred)
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Knowledge of food, beverage, and alcohol service regulations
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Passion for sports and hospitality

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with POS systems and inventory software
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • High energy, outgoing personality with a guest-first mindset

Pay: From $45,000.00 per year
