Restaurant Event and Marketing Manager

Help grow the private dining and marketing program for one of Cambridge’s most creative restaurant groups.

We’re looking for a hands-on Hospitality Event & Marketing Manager to lead private dining, guest relations, and marketing initiatives for a growing multi-concept restaurant group in Cambridge.

About the Role

This role combines event management, marketing, and guest relations. You’ll manage event inquiries, coordinate private dining and large party experiences, and oversee marketing for the group across social media, newsletters, and local media.

When events aren’t scheduled, you’ll cover floor management shifts to stay connected with daily operations and guest experience standards. The position is five days per week, with flexibility to host or attend events as needed. You’ll coordinate another manager to cover events on your days off.

Prompt and professional communication is essential, this includes replying quickly to all event inquiries and handling special guest requests that go beyond typical reservations, such as large party dining that may not require a private space. Keeping staff and managers informed about upcoming events. Providing announcements to staff about events via 7Shifts and also identifying local events that may affect service (i.e. Graduation, Concerts, Sporting Events, etc).

Compensation

  • Base salary: $70,000–$80,000 (based on experience)
  • Commission: 3% of event revenue for inbound or referred booking / 5% of event revenue for events you personally pursue and secure through outreach or networking

  • Future support staff planned as event volume increases, you’ll help develop attainable KPIs to determine when to bring on additional help and what role they will filL

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main contact for all private dining and event clients from inquiry through event execution.
  • Respond promptly to event inquiries and guest requests.
  • Manage large group dining and special requests outside of traditional private events.
  • Draft proposals, timelines, and floor plans for events.
  • Oversee marketing initiatives, including:
  • Monthly Newsletters (at first) to eventually Bi-Monthly Newsletters
  • Social media scheduling and content (working with influencers, scheduling posts, working with staff to get content, or hire someone part-time to get content)
  • Collaborations with bars, brands, other restaurants, local partners, and media
  • Monitor and respond to guest reviews across all platforms with warmth and professionalism through our OpenTable dashboard
  • Track event and marketing performance; create KPIs to measure growth and guide hiring needs.
  • Work to create better event experiences and packages
  • Properly tag images, review responses, Google business posts to support growth for Google and ChatGPT SEO growth.
  • Manage paid ads in Google and Instagram as well as traditional markets.
  • Manage Google Voice
  • Collaborate closely with ownership and chef teams to align marketing and guest experience goals.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in hospitality, event sales, with a want to get into marketing management.
  • Hands-on leadership style and comfort managing the floor.
  • Strong writing, communication, and organization skills.
  • Flexible schedule, including occasional nights and weekends.
  • Must be on-site full-time no remote or hybrid work.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
