We are seeking a dynamic, passionate, and highly experienced Restaurant General Manager to lead the full spectrum of operations at our premium dining establishment in Dubai. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing high-end restaurants, exceptional leadership qualities, and the ability to deliver unforgettable guest experiences. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep operational expertise, strong financial acumen, and the ability to manage diverse teams in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
About the Role
The Restaurant General Manager is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day operations including service excellence, staff performance, financial management, guest satisfaction, vendor coordination, and long-term business growth. You will ensure that the restaurant maintains the highest standards of hospitality, hygiene, and operational efficiency, while driving revenue and ensuring cost control.
This position requires someone who thrives in a leadership role, is committed to delivering elevated dining experiences, and can successfully manage multiple operational functions simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operations Management
- Oversee daily restaurant operations to ensure smooth, efficient service across all departments.
- Implement and maintain SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) to uphold high-quality service standards.
- Monitor dining room ambience, cleanliness, table rotation, and overall guest flow.
- Ensure compliance with Dubai Municipality, HACCP, and UAE food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation, quality, and presentation.
- Conduct regular operational audits to evaluate service performance and identify improvements.
2. Staff Management & Leadership
- Managing 40 staff members. Hire, train, mentor, and supervise restaurant staff, including FOH and BOH teams.
- Develop staff schedules, assign tasks, and ensure proper staff deployment during peak hours.
- Conduct performance reviews and implement staff training programs to improve efficiency.
- Foster a positive work culture, promoting teamwork, communication, and continuous learning.
- Resolve internal staff concerns and maintain high employee morale and retention.
3. Customer Relations & Guest Experience
- Serve as the main point of contact for VIP guests, regular customers, and special bookings.
- Ensure every guest receives exceptional service aligned with fine-dining standards.
- Address and resolve customer complaints professionally while ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Monitor guest feedback from online platforms and implement strategies to improve ratings and brand reputation.
- Collaborate with the team to create memorable dining experiences and personalized service.
4. Financial Management
- Oversee restaurant budgeting, forecasting, and P&L (profit & loss) analysis.
- Implement cost control strategies for food, beverages, and labor without compromising quality.
- Track daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports to monitor revenue and expenses.
- Manage inventory control, waste reduction, and portion sizing.
- Ensure timely vendor payments and maintain financial transparency.
5. Marketing, Branding & Strategy
- Collaborate with marketing teams to drive promotional campaigns, seasonal offers, and special events.
- Analyze market trends and competitor strategies to position the restaurant effectively.
- Implement strategies to increase footfall, table bookings, and repeat customers.
- Support digital marketing initiatives such as social media presence, reviews, and influencer partnerships.
- Contribute to long-term business planning and growth initiatives.
6. Vendor & Supplier Management
- Manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, and service providers.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and procurement terms to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Monitor stock quality, timely deliveries, and purchase cycles.
- Conduct periodic reviews to assess supplier performance and compliance with restaurant standards.
Qualifications & Skills Required
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in restaurant or hospitality management, preferably in fine dining or premium hospitality.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire diverse teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; fluency in English is essential, Arabic is an advantage.
- Proven experience in financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
- In-depth understanding of both Front-of-House (FOH) and Back-of-House (BOH) operations.
- Strong knowledge of UAE health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage high-volume operations efficiently.
- Exceptional customer service mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in POS systems, restaurant management software, and MS Office applications.
