Duties

• Greet guests warmly with genuine enthusiasm, making them feel instantly welcome and appreciated
• Manage reservations and seating arrangements efficiently using POS systems such as Square.
• Maintain a clean, organized host stand and waiting area to ensure a professional appearance
• Communicate clearly with guests regarding wait times, menu specials, and restaurant policies via phone or in person
• Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to optimize seating flow and minimize wait times
• Handle guest inquiries, special requests, and concerns with courteous professionalism to enhance guest relations
• Assist with guest departure processes, including managing reservations for future visits and collecting feedback when appropriate

Experience

• Prior experience as a host/hostess or in food service is highly preferred, demonstrating strong customer service skills
• Experience working in a restaurant environment, including familiarity with POS systems like Aloha or Micros, is advantageous
• Excellent communication skills are essential for engaging with guests, team members, and management effectively
• Background in Japanese/sushi cuisine.
• Knowledge of phone etiquette and guest relations best practices will support your success in this role
• Previous serving or guest service experience helps build the foundation for handling busy restaurant settings with confidence
