Restaurant kitchen cleaner

Job Summary

The Kitchen Cleaner is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen area. This role ensures that all kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas are cleaned and sanitized according to food safety and hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize kitchen floors, walls, work surfaces, and drainage areas
• Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment
• Dispose of garbage and waste in a proper and timely manner
• Ensure cleanliness of kitchen storage areas, refrigerators, and freezers
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and health regulations at all times
• Assist kitchen staff with basic cleaning tasks during service hours
• Refill cleaning supplies and report shortages to the supervisor
• Handle cleaning chemicals safely and correctly
• Support general kitchen operations as required

Requirements & Qualifications

• Previous experience as a kitchen cleaner or steward is an advantage
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and sanitation standards
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Physically fit and able to stand for long hours
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and holidays
• Basic understanding of hygiene and food safety standards
