Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Store Manager to oversee daily operations at our retail location. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of retail management. This role involves managing staff, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining efficient store operations to meet business goals. The Store Manager will play a pivotal role in driving sales, managing inventory, and fostering a positive shopping environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise store staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations
- Oversee daily store operations to ensure smooth functioning and adherence to company policies
- Manage inventory levels through effective stock control, purchasing, and merchandising strategies
- Implement sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets and enhance customer satisfaction
- Handle cash management tasks such as cashiering, cash handling, and POS transactions with accuracy
- Develop and execute marketing initiatives to promote store products and services
- Monitor store metrics including retail math, sales management, and budgeting to optimize performance
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized shopping environment
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving complaints, and ensuring a positive shopping experience
- Conduct employee orientation, training & development sessions to enhance team skills
- Manage scheduling shifts for staff to ensure adequate coverage during operating hours
Skills
- Proven management experience in retail or grocery store environments with supervising responsibilities
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and develop team members
- Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency in inventory management systems, POS technology, and retail math calculations
- Skilled in negotiation, purchasing, pricing strategies, and merchandising techniques
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases effectively
- Experience with payroll processing, bookkeeping, budgeting, and administrative tasks
- Ability to handle cash handling accurately and manage store finances responsibly
- Strong organizational skills with effective time management capabilities
- Knowledge of marketing strategies and retail sales techniques
- Demonstrated ability in training & development initiatives and employee orientation processes
- Familiarity with wireless sales or specialty retail sectors is advantageous
