Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Restaurant Manager to oversee daily operations at our establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of food service management, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences. This role involves managing staff, ensuring food safety standards, controlling inventory, and maintaining high-quality service in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience in casual dining, fine dining, or quick service restaurants is highly valued. The Restaurant Manager will play a key role in fostering a positive team culture and ensuring operational excellence across all departments.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily restaurant operations, including food preparation, service, and cleanliness to ensure high standards are maintained.
- Manage staff scheduling, training, and development to optimize team performance and customer satisfaction.
- Oversee food safety protocols and ensure compliance with health regulations and standards.
- Handle cash management, POS transactions (Aloha POS, Micros POS), and financial reporting accurately.
- Control inventory levels, order supplies, and manage food production to minimize waste and control costs.
- Lead staff hiring processes including interviewing and onboarding new team members.
- Monitor customer feedback and address concerns promptly to enhance guest experience.
- Coordinate shift management to ensure smooth transitions between different periods of operation.
- Maintain a welcoming atmosphere that promotes excellent hospitality and customer service.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient food handling, preparation, and presentation.
- Assist in budgeting and financial planning to meet operational goals.
- Implement training programs focused on food safety, culinary techniques, and service excellence.
Requirements
- Proven management experience in the food industry, particularly in casual dining or fine dining environments.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, kitchen management, and food safety standards.
- Experience with POS systems and schedule system; cash handling expertise required.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to supervise teams effectively and foster a positive work environment.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on hospitality management.
- Ability to manage inventory control, budgeting, and cost analysis efficiently.
- Prior experience in food production, catering, or banquet settings is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills with experience in staff training & development and interviewing candidates.
- Knowledge of culinary techniques and kitchen management preferred; hospitality or hotel experience is a plus.
- Solid understanding of alcoholic beverages and upselling strategies to help increase beverage sales
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends or holidays as needed; previous assistant manager or supervisory experience is desirable. - Must have Food Manager certificate, Allergy awareness certificate, TIPS certificate, Choking certificate or willing to obtain these within one month of hiring.
- Fluent in English and Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese), Spanish is a plus
