The Restaurant Manager plays a vital role, working closely with the General Manager + Beverage Director to manage the day-to-day operations of The Holbrook House. Together, they will recruit, train, manage and mentor FOH team members. This role will provide direction and support for the team to ensure positive, memorable and exceptional guest experiences. The Service Manager will also oversee the execution of small private events for The Holbrook House and as needed, other events for The Conservatory at One Sansome.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


  • Assist in the day-to-day restaurant operations – including but not limited to working closely with the Management team to ensure seamless coordination between the FOH and BOH throughout each service; supervise service flow during busy periods, adjusting team coverage as needed; monitor table turns, pacing of service and guest flow to optimize efficiency without compromising quality.
  • Be a constant presence during service, providing on-the-floor coaching and guidance to servers, bartenders, and support staff.
  • Consistently manage the team, maintaining high level of service standards,
  • Anticipate guest needs and deliver elevated hospitality at every touchpoint.
  • Be the example – hold yourself and team members accountable to high standards of hospitality, fostering a positive and proactive environment.
  • Assist in onboarding and training new team members to maintain consistency and excellence.
  • Participate in implementing on-going training topics that encompass all areas of hospitality.
  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge and share expertise with staff, ensuring they are well versed and capable of making recommendations.
  • Assist with scheduling, pre shifts, side work assignments, and shift handovers as needed.
  • Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and efficient manner, striving to resolve issues promptly maintaining guest satisfaction.
  • Oversee the setup, execution and strike of small private events for the restaurant.
  • Liaise with event hosts to confirm details, timing and service expectations for each event.
  • Manage event teams to deliver high level, guest focused service ensuring an enjoyable experience.
  • Support reporting of service-related issues, guest feedback, and operational opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain knowledge of safety, sanitation, and health department standards.


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE


  • Minimum 2-3 years high end restaurant lead/supervisory experience in a high volume, fast paced environment.
  • Hospitality driven and service oriented.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with team members and guests.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, while maintaining attention to detail and upholding quality standards.
  • Culinary, high-end wine, beer and spirits knowledge.
  • High level of professionalism and positive, can-do attitude.

  • Exceptional customer service skills, with a focus on providing a personalized and memorable experience for every guest.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Proven self-starter capable of finding solutions with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in private events a plus.
  • Attention to detail, organized, able to prioritize and efficiently multitask.
  • Working knowledge of Toast and Seven Rooms a plus.
  • Weekly schedule flexibility which will include days, evenings, weekends and non-consecutive days off as dictated by the restaurant’s operational hours as well as the private event schedule. • Stamina to work 8-10+ hours a day, standing and walking between service areas for the duration of the shift.
    • Current California managers food handlers’ certificate.
    • Current Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification.
    • Ability to bend, stoop, lift up to 25lbs, reach overhead and perform repetitive motion.
