Hola! Rio Mirage Cafe Corporation is a family-owned business with two locations. The original location was opened in our hometown of El Mirage in 2000. The city of Surprise began to develop and an opportunity to open the second location was presented in 2007. The Restaurant Manager will be required to lead all aspects of our business. The responsibilities include maintaining all restaurant operations. This includes maintaining profitability, excellent food quality, and outstanding customer-service standards. This will require creating weekly and monthly sales reports with inventory. Creating time for employee training with follow up is a must. To be successful in this role, you will need management skills and experience in both front and back of the house. While overseeing the dining room, you will balance seating capacity, as well as ensure adequate food times. BOH management experience is essential, as you will hire and schedule qualified Cooks, oversee food prep procedures, ensure dishwashers follow safety rules, and staff comply with the AZ health department regulations. Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily Front of the House and Back of the House restaurant operations
- Deliver superior service and maximize customer satisfaction
- Respond efficiently and accurately to customer complaints
- Regularly review of all product quality (food, liquor, paper goods) and research new vendors
- Estimate future needs for goods, kitchen utensils, and cleaning products. Ordering from vendors quickly to ensure work tools are available
- Control operational costs and identify measures to cut waste;
- Control weekly Inventory on all COGS
- Create detailed revenue and expenses reports on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
- Organize and supervise shifts; adhering to company policies for boh and foh
- Review staff performance and praise or provide re-direction on a daily basis
- Train new and current employees on proper customer service practices
- Hold shift meetings daily, educational meetings bi-weekly, and staff meetings quarterly
- Open door policy; communicate effectively with employees
- Ensure compliance with sanitation and Dept of Health and safety regulations
- Compliance with the Dept of Liquor
- Ensure all restaurant equipment is maintained at given intervals and malfunctions are fixed
- Compliance with Fire safety regulations
- Manage restaurant’s good image and suggest ways to improve it
- Promote company brand in the local community through word-of-mouth and restaurant events
- Recommend ways to reach a broader audience (e.g. advertisement, social media )
- Assist guests with caterings and/or deliveries
- Implement policies and protocols that will maintain future restaurant operations
Skills
- Proven work experience as a Restaurant Manager, Restaurant General Manager, Hospitality Manager or similar role
- Extensive food and beverage knowledge; familiarity with food and pour costs calculations to build a price point, creating pars for ordering, rotation to prevent waste, liquor pour size, ability to make all drinks, ability to recall dishes to inform customers and wait staff
- Familiarity with restaurant management software, Toast POS, excel, and word.
- Strong leadership and management
- Financial management skills
- BS degree in Business Administration; hospitality management or culinary schooling is a plus!
