About the Role

Gemma Fish & Oyster is looking for energetic, reliable Support Staff to join our front‑of‑house team. This is an all‑encompassing position — you’ll rotate between hosting, bar backing, food running, and server assisting depending on the needs of the shift. We’re a fast‑paced, team‑driven restaurant, and we’re looking for people who can jump in wherever needed and keep the flow smooth.

What You’ll Do

Hosting

• Greet guests with a warm, friendly attitude
• Manage the waitlist and seating chart
• Communicate table status with servers and managers
• Keep the host stand organized and stocked

Food Running

• Deliver dishes accurately and efficiently
• Learn menu items and allergens
• Support servers by clearing and resetting tables
• Maintain cleanliness in the expo and service areas

Server Assisting

• Refill waters, pre‑bus tables, and support guest needs
• Restock server stations
• Help maintain smooth service during busy periods
• Communicate with servers and expo to keep timing tight

Bar Backing

• Restock ice, glassware, juices, and bar supplies
• Run drinks when needed
• Keep the bar area clean and organized
• Support bartenders during high‑volume service

• Prior restaurant experience required
• Comfortable rotating between multiple roles
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to stay calm and focused in a fast‑paced environment
• Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn
• Positive attitude and a guest‑first mindset
