Responsibilities
- Oversee daily store operations, ensuring smooth functioning of all departments and adherence to company policies.
- Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of sales associates, providing guidance on customer service, product knowledge, and sales techniques.
- Manage employee orientation, training & development initiatives to enhance team performance and engagement.
- Coordinate recruiting efforts including interviewing candidates, onboarding new hires, and managing employee schedules.
- Handle payroll processing, bookkeeping tasks, and inventory management to maintain accurate records and stock levels.
- Implement effective merchandising strategies to optimize product placement, pricing, and promotional displays.
- Monitor sales performance using retail math principles; analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
- Conduct regular inventory control checks, stock replenishment, and purchasing activities to ensure product availability.
- Manage POS (Point of Sale) systems for transactions including cashiering duties and cash handling procedures.
- Enforce store policies on customer service standards, phone etiquette, and complaint resolution to enhance shopper satisfaction.
- Oversee shift management by scheduling staff efficiently to meet customer demand during peak hours.
- Maintain organized records of budgets, sales reports, and other administrative documentation.
- Support marketing initiatives by executing promotional campaigns and local outreach efforts.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and uphold a secure shopping environment through vigilant supervision.
Requirements
- Proven experience in retail management or assistant manager roles with supervising responsibilities.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and foster a collaborative work environment.
- Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for diverse customer engagement.
- Demonstrated proficiency in inventory management, merchandising, POS systems, and retail math.
- Experience with recruiting, interviewing candidates, payroll processing, bookkeeping, and budgeting.
- Knowledge of retail sales techniques including pricing strategies and promotional planning.
- Skilled in customer service excellence with a professional phone etiquette approach.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately while managing cashiering duties effectively.
- Organizational skills with attention to detail in stock control, administrative tasks, and time management.
- Familiarity with wireless sales or grocery retail environments is advantageous but not required.
- Proactive problem solver with strong negotiation skills; capable of managing multiple priorities efficiently.
