Retail Assistant Manager

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Retail Assistant Manager to join our vibrant retail team. Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and ensuring store cleanliness and organization
  • Lead, supervise, and motivate sales associates to achieve sales targets and deliver outstanding customer service
  • Oversee inventory management tasks such as stock replenishment, merchandising, purchasing, and inventory control to optimize product availability
  • Conduct employee orientation, training & development sessions to enhance team skills and product knowledge
  • Handle customer inquiries with professionalism using excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
  • Manage POS (Point of Sale) systems for transactions, returns, and exchanges efficiently and accurately
  • Support marketing initiatives by implementing promotional displays and participating in local marketing efforts

Requirements

  • Proven experience in retail management or assistant manager roles with supervising experience
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively and foster a collaborative environment
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in bookkeeping, payroll, and administrative tasks
  • Proficiency in retail math for pricing, sales management, budgeting, and store financials
  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse customer bases
  • Knowledge of inventory management systems, POS technology, and retail math principles
  • Exceptional communication skills coupled with a friendly phone etiquette for customer interactions
  • Ability to handle cash handling responsibilities accurately and confidently
  • Experience in grocery or general retail stores is preferred but not mandatory
  • Demonstrated ability in merchandising, stocking, supervising shifts, and managing retail sales operations
  • Strong time management skills with the capacity to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
