Retail Design and Delivery Specialist

Role Overview:

We are seeking a Retail Design and Delivery Specialist with a strong design background to support retail project delivery across our developments. The ideal candidate will coordinate design submissions, manage tenant requirements, conduct site visits, and ensure compliance with design and construction guidelines.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

1. Ensure that the presentation and functional quality of all stores within the shopping mall’s portfolio are maintained to the highest possible standards and aligned with the company’s defined design criteria.
2. Ensure business-driven retail design solutions, effective on-site store delivery, and minimization of downtime in the income stream as a result of programmed openings.
3. Enhance the retail design process through strong engagement with customers and ongoing collaboration with retailers, their designers, contractors, builders, and shopfitters.
4. Initiate contact and meet with retailers and their design/contractor teams to clarify the mall’s design criteria and fit-out guidelines, explaining all delivery processes for new openings and upgrades.
5. Share and discuss proposed retail designs with key mall stakeholders and obtain the required approvals.
6. Contribute to design and delivery updates for stakeholders’ review.
7. Coordinate closely with the Leasing team on agreed lease terms and track activities to ensure timely tenancy handover.
8. Interact with internal teams to coordinate works and costs during the store/unit fit-out process, minimizing impact on ongoing development projects.
9. Maintain strong relationships with merchants and assist in billing tenants for Tenant Variation Request (TVR) works.
10. Coordinate with tenants’ designers and contractors on retail design matters, condition of premises, and logistics.
11. Follow up with retailers' designers to ensure timely submission of final retail design and MEP packages for approval.

Functional / Technical Competencies

• Strong understanding of retail design principles, layout planning, and fit-out processes
• Solid site experience and ability to review/interpret drawings and specifications
• Excellent coordination and communication skills with multiple stakeholders
• Ability to manage multiple retail projects simultaneously under tight deadlines
• Skilled in sketching, detailing, and design presentation
• Basic understanding of MEP integration within retail environments

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field
• Strong portfolio with relevant design work
• Proficiency in SketchUp, AutoCAD, or any 3D design software
• Strong Arabic and English communication skills
• Ability to conduct site inspections and coordinate with stakeholders
