ROLE OVERVIEW:

The Retail District Manager oversees the performance, operations, and leadership of CULTA's dispensary locations. This role is responsible for driving revenue, ensuring operational excellence, maintaining compliance, and developing strong store leadership teams. The District Manager provides hands-on support, coaching, and accountability to Store Managers while partnering cross-functionally with Marketing, Supply Chain, Inventory, and Compliance. The goal of this role is to ensure each location delivers a consistent CULTA retail experience rooted in service, efficiency, and compliance.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Retail LeadershipTeam Development

  • Lead, coach, and support retail teams to ensure strong leadership, accountability, and operational consistency across all locations.
  • Oversee staffing levels, workforce planning, onboarding, and training in collaboration with HR.
  • Conduct regular store visits to assess performance, execution, and leadership effectiveness.
  • Address performance concerns, support corrective actions, and elevate high-performing team members.
  • Foster a culture of professionalism, teamwork, and CULTA values.

Revenue, KPI ManagementBusiness Insights

  • Monitor store-level KPIs including revenue, transactions, conversion, basket size, labor efficiency, and promotional performance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve sales performance and operational productivity at both store and district levels.
  • Partner with Marketing and Procurement teams to execute promotions and ensure alignment on priorities.
  • Use data to coach Store Managers, adjust strategies, and improve results across locations.

Operational ExcellenceStore Performance

  • Ensure stores follow all SOPs related to customer service, cash handling, opening/closing, inventory control, and retail floor operations.
  • Partner with Store Managers to monitor daily, weekly, and monthly operational performance metrics.
  • Validate that store environments are clean, safe, organized, and aligned with CULTA brand standards.
  • Partner with InventoryPlanning to ensure proper stock levels, product handling, and execution of inventory procedures.
  • Support store teams during audits and inventory investigations.

Customer ExperienceBrand Execution

  • Ensure stores deliver a consistent and elevated CULTA customer experience.
  • Conduct customer experience audits and coach Store Managers on areas for improvement.
  • Ensure retail spaces reflect CULTA's brand standards, merchandising guidelines, and service expectations.
  • Ensure accurate execution of menus, promotions, merchandising, and in-store marketing materials.

ComplianceRisk Management

  • Ensure all locations adhere to Maryland cannabis regulations and CULTA policies.
  • Verify all staff maintain required training and certifications; ensure documentation is complete and current.
  • Support incident reporting, investigations, and remediation steps when needed.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and traceability of cannabis products in alignment with SOPs.
  • Escalate compliance risks when necessary.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as the key link between retail stores and internal teams (Marketing, Inventory, Supply Chain, HR, Compliance).
  • Communicate store needs, issues, and opportunities to leadership proactively.
  • Support the rollout of new initiatives, technology, and processes to stores.
