Retail & Nursery Manager

Position Overview

This role is responsible for the daily operation of our nursery and retail space. You will ensure plants are healthy and sellable, inventory is accurate and organized, customers are taken care of, and the retail environment reflects our company standards.

This is a hands-on, ownership-driven role—not just a cashier or plant waterer.

Key Responsibilities: Plant & Nursery Management

• Water, fertilize, and maintain plant health
• Perform weekend watering as needed to protect plant health
• Identify and treat plant issues (insects, disease, etc.)
• Ensure all plants remain healthy, organized, and sellable

Inventory & Organization

• Organize, label, and maintain plant inventory
• Track plant loss/shrink and maintain accurate counts
• Order plants and receive deliveries

Job Support (Critical)

• Pull and stage plants for upcoming landscape jobs
• Ensure jobs have correct materials ready on time

Retail Sales & Customer Experience

• Assist walk-in customers with plant/material selection
• Process sales and handle payments
• Maintain pricing, displays, and merchandising

Facility & Office Upkeep

• Maintain a clean, organized retail and office space
• Handle basic cleaning (floors, bathrooms, shared spaces)

Errands & Support Tasks

• Run bank deposits, post office, and supply pickups (3x/week minimum)
• Handle urgent same-day deposits when needed

• Willingness to handle weekend responsibilities when required

Preferred (but not required):

• Plant knowledge / nursery experience
• Retail or sales experience
• Inventory management experience

Schedule

• Monday – Friday (primary schedule)
• Weekend plant watering required (Saturday & Sunday seasonally as needed based on weather)
• Typical hours: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (seasonally adjusted)
