Position Title: Pharmacy Technician II – Certified Pharmacy Technician

Position Summary
The Pharmacy Technician II is a certified technician responsible for performing routine pharmacy functions with increased independence while supporting safe and efficient medication distribution.
Essential Functions
- Assist pharmacists in pharmacy operations in accordance with regulations
- Prepare, package, and label medications accurately
- Process medication orders and maintain documentation
- Manage inventory including ordering, stocking, and removing expired medications
- Support automated dispensing systems and unit dose processes
- Assist with retail pharmacy operations including prescription processing
- Maintain accurate records for medications and controlled substances
- Participate in training and orientation of new staff
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Demonstrates competency in core pharmacy functions
- Handles routine tasks independently
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience: Previous pharmacy technician experience preferred
- Licensure/Certifications:
- Active Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) required
- Virginia pharmacy technician registration required
- CPR/BLS preferred

Physical Requirements
