Retail Purchaser – Retail Supermarket

Position Details

· Job Title: Retail Purchaser

· Department: Purchasing / Procurement

· Industry: Retail Supermarket

· Reports To: General Manager / Supermarket Manager.

Key Responsibilities

· Source and purchase products from approved suppliers at competitive prices.

· Maintain adequate stock levels to avoid shortages and overstock situations.

· Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and promotional support with suppliers.

· Prepare and process purchase orders accurately and on time.

· Monitor inventory movement and sales trends to forecast purchasing requirements.

· Coordinate with the warehouse, receiving, and store departments for smooth stock replenishment.

· Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, pricing, and delivery timelines.

· Ensure all purchased products meet company quality standards and regulatory requirements.

· Analyze market trends, competitor pricing, and customer demand to improve purchasing strategies.

· Monitor expiry dates and minimize product wastage, especially for perishable goods.

· Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier databases, and inventory reports.

· Coordinate promotional purchases and seasonal product planning.

· Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and budget controls.

· Resolve supplier-related issues, including shortages, damages, and invoice discrepancies.

· Support management with reports, purchase analysis, and cost-saving initiatives.

Skills & Competencies

· Strong negotiation and communication skills.

· Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities.

· Knowledge of supermarket operations and product categories.

· Ability to manage multiple suppliers and product lines.

· Good understanding of inventory management and stock control.

Pay: AED2,500.00 - AED3,500.00 per month
