Retail Sales Associate

Overview
The Retail Sales Associate will be responsible for providing excellent service to customers, maintaining a clean and organized sales floor, and ensuring merchandise is properly displayed and labeled. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet customers promptly and provide friendly, helpful assistance.
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of store products, pricing, promotions, and policies.
  • Answer customer questions, provide product recommendations, and guide customers through the sales process.
  • Assist with checkout, and payment transactions.
  • Monitor and restock merchandise in bins and on shelves to ensure items are available and attractively displayed.
  • Repackage, label, and neatly organize items in bins in line with Amazon bin store requirements.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales floor, bin areas, and backroom.
  • Follow company policies and procedures for handling merchandise and assisting customers.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet sales goals and provide a positive shopping experience.
  • Report low stock, damaged products, or customer concerns to management.

Qualifications

  • Previous retail or customer service experience preferred, but not required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain positive, approachable, and professional when interacting with customers.
  • Comfortable learning product details and explaining them to customers.
  • Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to keep bin store and retail areas neat.
  • Basic math and cash-handling skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged Standing: Ability to stand for extended periods, often while operating a cash register, fulfilling bin store tasks or assisting customers
  • Lifting/Carrying: Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Reaching and Bending: May be required to reach for items on shelves and in bins, bend to pick up merchandise, and perform cleaning tasks (e.g., dusting, sweeping, vacuuming).
  • Fine Motor Skills: Manual dexterity to handle cash, credit cards, operate a cash register, and repackage or label merchandise.
  • Visual Acuity: Clear vision to read prices, scan items, and identify product and customer details.
  • General Mobility: Ability to walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, and reach with hands and arms as necessary.
  • Communication: Ability to talk and hear to effectively interact with customers and team members.

Additional Considerations:

  • Comfortable, supportive footwear is essential due to prolonged standing.
  • May need to adapt to varying temperatures depending on the retail setting.
  • Tasks such as operating a cash register, labeling merchandise, adding product to the bins involves repetitive hand and wrist movements.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
