About Us

HobbyTown Louisville is a locally owned franchise and one of the go-to spots in town for toys, model kits, RC vehicles, and trading card games. For TCG, we carry Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, One Piece TCG, and the Gundam Card Game, along with Bandai model kits, plushies, board games, and family-friendly toys. We host release-day events, tournaments, and league nights, and we're growing our TCG community.

The Role

We're looking for a part-time Sales Associate who knows trading card games and can talk shop with our customers. Whether you play competitively, collect, or just love the hobby, your knowledge will make a real difference here. You'll help players find the right product, talk through deck choices, and be a key part of our in-store events.

What You'll Do

• Help customers find games, sealed product, accessories, and the right game for them
• Talk confidently about current sets, and upcoming releases
• Run and support in-store TCG events like release days, prereleases, tournaments, and league nights
• Recommend add-ons (sleeves, deck boxes, binders, playmats)
• Ring up sales and keep the store clean, organized, and well-merchandised
• Help us grow our TCG community

What We're Looking For

• Hands-on TCG experience. Playing, collecting, judging, or selling (Pokémon, Magic, One Piece, Yu-Gi-Oh, Lorcana, Flesh and Blood, or similar)
• Comfortable explaining rules, product lines, and current sets to customers
• Good communication and a customer-first mindset
• Reliability and weekend/evening availability (events and release days are our busiest times)
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn product lines outside TCG, like Bandai kits, plushies, and board games

Bonus Points

• Tournament judging experience (Pokémon Professor, Magic Judge, etc.)
• Familiarity with TCGplayer, eBay, or grading services
• Experience running events or organized play
• Knowledge of Bandai/Gunpla or model paints
