Job type: Part time.

Hours: Ca 15-30 hours a week, including on average one day per weekend. Holiday availability important. Some schedule flexibility sought and offered.

Reports to: CEO/Owners.

Location: 927 State Street, Santa Barbara, CA 93101.

About Viva Oliva

Viva Oliva was founded in October 2010 and retails outstanding extra virgin olive oils, balsamic vinegars, specialty foods and kitchen accessories. Most products are sourced from California based suppliers with a focus on high quality, natural products from artisan producers. Sales are from walk-in customers at its retail store on State Street as well as online via its e-commerce store at www.vivaoliva.com as well as on Amazon.

Position Summary:

Sales Associate who will assist with the day to day operations of the business.

Responsibilities:

• Be a core part of a small team which will grow and develop the business.
• Provide outstanding and quality customer service with confidence, warmth and detailed product knowledge.
• Proactively assist and support customers with their choices of products for themselves and as gifts.
• Support store operations, policies and procedures including the e-commerce business.
• Assist with the production of in-store and online stock. Viva Oliva bottles all of its oil and vinegars on the premises in Santa Barbara.
• Respond to daily demands, including gift wrapping, preparing shipments, restocking, bottling, inventory control and cleaning. Some lifting required (occasionally up to 50lbs), especially in connection with stock deliveries and shipments.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

• Experience in retail sales and / or e-commerce.
• High School Diploma or higher.
• Passion for customer service, selling and product knowledge.
• Passion for food, cooking, health and nutrition.
• Positive, professional and energetic attitude.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Food handling experience / certification (preferred but not essential).
• References may be required.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
