Retail Sales Representative/ Design Consultant

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Detail oriented with good time management skills capable of overseeing multiple projects at once.
• Interest in current design trends, products, and sharing knowledge and understating with customers
• Mechanical aptitude or ability to learn detailed product specifications and applications
• Positive attitude and willingness to develop new skills
• Career oriented and motivated

Responsibilities

• Engage with customers to understand their needs, offering tailored product recommendations and design solutions.
• Schedule client meetings, estimating, installation set-up, and post install follow up
• Conduct product demonstrations, including lighting and layout design consultations, to showcase features and benefits effectively.
• Assist clients with inside sales activities such as POS transactions, cash handling, and stock management to ensure smooth checkout processes.
• Maintain a working knowledge of products and appropriate applications, sales, and promotions
• Collaborate with clients on renovation, remodeling, and interior design projects by providing expert advice on lighting design, layout planning, and product selection.
• Estimate/figure jobs
• Maintain organized merchandising displays that highlight key products like lighting fixtures, cabinetry, and accessories to attract customer attention.
• Manage account relationships through effective communication skills and personalized service to foster customer loyalty.
• Support store operations including stocking shelves, inventory management, and basic maintenance to ensure a welcoming shopping environment.
• Assist with loading customer purchases in the warehouse
• Promote marketing initiatives by educating customers about new products and seasonal promotions to boost sales performance.

Skills

• Proven experience in outside sales or retail sales environments with a focus on high-end or specialty products.
• Familiarity with renovation, remodeling, construction processes, and lighting design concepts.
• Exceptional communication skills for engaging customers confidently and clearly explaining technical details.
• Organizational skills for managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

• 1+ years sales experience in a retail environment
• Associates Degree or equivalent work experience preferred
• Construction knowledge preferred
• Interior design or decorating background preferred

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
