Retail Store Associate/ Produce/ Cashier

Job Overview

We are looking for a reliable and customer-focused Produce & Cashier Associate to join our team. This role combines maintaining a fresh, organized produce department with delivering excellent customer service at the checkout. The ideal candidate is friendly, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide helpful, courteous service
• Operate cash register and process purchases accurately
• Handle cash, debit, credit, and other payment methods
• Stock, rotate, and maintain fresh produce displays
• Inspect produce for quality and remove damaged items
• Keep shelves, displays, and checkout areas clean and organized
• Assist customers with product questions and locating items
• Monitor inventory levels and notify management of shortages
• Follow food safety and store cleanliness standards
• Support other store duties as needed

Qualifications

• Previous retail, cashier, grocery, or produce experience is an asset (not required)
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Basic math and cash-handling skills
• Able to lift up to [insert weight requirement] and stand for extended periods
• Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends preferred
